NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme)

NAPS is a recent scheme of Government of India to promote Apprenticeship training and to incentivise employers for engaging apprentices. The scheme entails financial support to establishments undertaking apprenticeship programs.

Medhavi-Aspire offers consultancy services to the establishments for an end to end Apprentice management ranging from Apprentice sourcing, Basic training till availing financial reimbursements via the NAPS scheme.

Benefits of NAPS scheme are as below:

  1. GOI shares 25% of the prescribed stipend with the establishment for all apprentices to a maximum limit of Rs. 1500 per month/apprentice.
  2. No EPF / ESIC to be paid to the apprentices (No legal compulsion)
  3. Scheme Applicable to all employers – Across Manufacturing, Trade, Services and other sectors. 2.5% to 15% of the total workforce (including contractual) can be apprentices.
  4. Opportunity to use training facilities available with the establishment maximizing impact of learning
  5. You can choose the apprentice you want – fully at liberty to follow the normal selection process.
  6. The minimum age for the candidate to be an apprentice is 14 years. Candidates get an opportunity to learn while they earn from the age of 14 years itself getting exposure to the real work environment through hands-on training
